VANCOUVER, Canada–

Convedia
Corporation has been named one of British Columbia’s
Top 21 Exporters for 2005. Convedia was selected as a
finalist in the New Exporter category, based on the companies
rapid and consistent growth in export shipments to customers
around the globe. The awards are presented annually and
co-hosted by Canadian Manufactures and Exporters (CME)
and BC’s Provincial Ministry of Economic Development.
Founded in 2000, Convedia has quickly become the recognized
global leader of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Media
Server technology for next generation telecommunication
networks. Convedia began exporting products in 2001, and
has consistently derived over 95% of their product sales
outside Canada. In 2004, Convedia’s revenues more
than tripled as the company secured a global customer
base and VOIP deployments accelerated worldwide. Convedia’s
early penetration of China and Asia has resulted in over
40% of their revenues coming from that region of the world
alone.
Convedia founders Peter Briscoe and Grant Henderson recognized
early on that to succeed in the complex telecommunication
equipment marketplace, it would be essential for the company
to access international markets through strategic partnerships.
The success of Convedia’s channel distribution strategy,
coupled with the global reach of Convedia’s business
partners, has resulted in deployments in over 30 countries
and sales to 25 of the world’s top 50 telecommunication
service providers.
“Convedia is thrilled to be recognized as one of
B.C.’s fastest growing exporters,” said Grant
Henderson, Executive Vice President of Convedia. “We
are very fortunate to have access to an amazing talent
pool here in BC, and our success could not be possible
without the commitment and dedication of our world class
team and business partners”.
