Convedia Awarded Top New Exporter In British Columbia

Award recognizes export success of global Voice Over IP leader

VANCOUVER, Canada – November 28, 2005

Convedia is a 2005 BC Export Award WinnerConvedia Corporation, the leading supplier of IP media processing platforms for VoIP and IMS networks, was awarded the top new exporter award at British Columbia’s Top 21 Exporters Awards ceremony, an event hosted by the BC Division of Canadian Manufactures and Exporters (CME) and the Provincial Ministry of Economic Development. Convedia was selected for the award over several other high-profile companies in the “New Exporter” category, which recognizes the best of the companies that have made their initial entry into an export market and achieved the most notable success. Convedia was presented this prestigious award at the annual awards luncheon on November 25, 2005.

Convedia founders Peter Briscoe and Grant Henderson knew early on that the company’s success would depend on a strong export strategy. Since 2001, Convedia has derived more than 95 percent of its product sales outside of Canada and the company now boasts customers in more than 30 countries and sales to 25 of the world’s top 50 telecommunication service providers. In 2005 alone, Convedia increased export sales by over 200 percent and penetrated new markets in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific Region, as VoIP deployments continue to accelerate worldwide.

“We are thrilled to be named British Columbia’s top new exporter and are truly honored to be included amongst such a distinguished group of finalists,” said Peter Briscoe, founder and CEO at Convedia. “A strong and innovative export strategy has been crucial to our success from the beginning, and our continued growth in the international market is a direct result of the hard work and expertise of our team and business partners.”
