VoiceGenie
Technologies Inc., the leading supplier of standards-based
media controller software and Convedia Corporation, the
global leader in IP media servers, today announced that
their proof-of-concept for a best-in-class Multimedia
Resource Function (MRF) component for IP Multimedia Subsystems
is ready for demonstration. Highlighting a key enabler
for mobile service providers – a componentized IMS
solution for delivering speech, touch-tone and visually-enabled
applications – demonstrations, to be arranged with
either Convedia or VoiceGenie, open a window into the
future of value-added services, which combine spoken,
touch-tone and visual interactions.
“Speech and video-enabled applications and services
are future revenue generating applications for wireless
providers to offer new and compelling services to wireless
subscribers, as they are far richer in features and functionality
than traditional touch-tone applications,” said
Grant Henderson, Convedia's Executive Vice President of
Marketing and Strategy. “Applications deployed on
the Convedia IP media server and the VoiceGenie media
controller can be feature-rich and extremely powerful,
given that VoiceGenie has risen to the challenge of incorporating
the latest standards – including VoiceXML 2.0, 2.1
and CCXML – into their media controller.”
The combined VoiceGenie and Convedia solution delivers
a best-in-class Media Resource Function (MRF) for 3G,
IMS and Fixed Mobile Convergence deployments. Convedia’s
IP media server processes multiple media resources and
VoiceGenie’s media controller controls the interactions
between media and speech servers to deliver rich interactive
services to users, regardless of the devices, protocols
and networks they are using.
“VoiceXML accelerates deployment of powerful new
multimedia applications that can be developed, packaged
and marketed in record time, adding valuable new revenue
streams to wireless providers concerned with eliminating
churn and securing customer loyalty in an era of strong
competitive pressures,” said Frank Tersigni, VP
of Marketing and Business Development, VoiceGenie Technologies
Inc.
