ATLANTA, GA and WOBURN, MA June 3, 2002 - Interoperability
between the products, for both SIP signaling and audio streams, was verified
through an extensive series of interoperability tests, including evaluations
at the Convedia lab and mutual partner labs, customer trials and recent
SIP industry interop events, such as Pulver.com's SIPop. Pingtel and Convedia
will continue to test their products on an ongoing basis to ensure long-term
interoperability.
The
announcement is being made in conjunction with the SuperComm 2002 conference
and exhibition, which is held June 2 to 6, 2002 in Atlanta. During SuperComm,
Pingtel and Convedia will demonstrate interworking of their products in
the SIP Forum booth (#12963). The demonstrations will showcase SIP based
pre-paid calling card, voice conferencing and network announcement server
applications.
Pingtel xpressa is a clear leader in IP phone deployments today,"
said Grant Henderson, executive vice president of marketing and strategy
and co-founder, Convedia. "We're pleased that Pingtel was able to quickly
verify interoperability, because it's critical for the delivery of next-generation
services that Convedia media servers work with important SIP devices,
such as the Pingtel phone. We look forward to many successful customer
deployments with Pingtel and our mutual partners.
Convedias

testing with Convedias
products because media servers are necessary components for enhanced VoIP
offerings on service provider networks. Our successful testing ensures
that next-generation networks can operate seamlessly, without carriers
having to worry about interoperability between Pingtel phones and Convedia
media servers.
