Common Voices and Convedia collaborate to deliver unified messaging and advanced automated attendant solutions for telecommunication service providers

Companies leverage SIP and VoiceXML to enable rapid deployment of enhanced voice solutions in Next Generation Networks.

Cambridge, MA. and Vancouver, Canada, June 3, 2003 - Common Voices LLC, an emerging leader of open standards based enhanced service solutions, and Convedia Corporation, a leading provider of carrier class media processing platforms, today announced the signing of a partnership that will enable wireline, wireless, and cable telecommunication service providers to deploy new applications cost effectively. The Common Voices and Convedia solutions will allow carriers to offer new services using existing equipment. In addition, they will aid carriers in migrating seamlessly to next generation equipment.

"It is important to Common Voices to form partnerships with companies that understand the reliability requirements of telecom carriers," said Don Picard, CEO of Common Voices. "Convedia’s products were designed to meet these very rigid requirements and the company is a leader in the development of carrier class IP Media Servers. We are pleased to be working with such a highly qualified partner."

Common Voices offers a range of products and services that include NowMessage™, a full-featured unified messaging solution, giving subscribers access to voicemail, e-mail and fax messages over the phone or the Web; NowConnect™, an automated attendant with sophisticated features such as dial-by-name and Web-based system administration; and NowThere™, patent pending software that enables Carriers to seamlessly migrate a subscriber’s existing mailbox to a new system—even an existing mailbox from another Carrier’s system.

"Common Voices and Convedia share a common vision and commitment to standards such as SIP and VoiceXML which help service providers accelerate the introduction of high margin, network based services," said Grant Henderson, Convedia’s Executive Vice President of Marketing and Strategy. "The Common Voices management team has extensive experience in the industry and its technical team includes some of the industry’s voice mail and unified messaging pioneers. We are pleased to have been chosen by Common Voices as an integral component of their solutions."
