Awards Ceremony with a prestigious SUPERQuest Most Promising Network
Technologies award. Convedias Media Servers with Advanced Speech
Recognition took top honors in the Application Layer Systems and Technologies
category.
For six years, the SUPERQuest Awards have
honored the best-built networks and most promising new technologies among
SUPERCOMM exhibitors and their customers worldwide. SUPERQuest
Award recipients have been selected as the best of the best in delivering
exceptional network design, supporting technologies and products across
all facets of the communications infrastructure industry. Winners are
chosen by a panel of judges which include industry leading technology
press, analysts and other experts.
"The SUPERQuest award is a tremendous honor for the entire Convedia
team and is a great validation, on an industry-wide level, for our company
and products," said Peter Briscoe, President and CEO of Convedia. "We
are pleased that the judges recognized the promise and value that Convedias
solutions bring to wireline and wireless service providers, and we thank
the judges, TIA and USTA for the award."
Convedias award winning family of carrier
class IP Media Servers reduce capital and ongoing operational costs by
consolidating the functions of traditional announcement servers, interactive
voice response units (IVR/VRU), conference bridges, messaging equipment,
and speech platforms onto a single shared media processing platform. Convedias
media servers are controlled by application servers and softswitches through
open control protocols such as SIP, VoiceXML, MGCP and PacketCable NCS.
According to Jack Chalden, general manager of SUPERCOMM,
"The strength and resiliency of this industry is reflected in the SUPERQuest
Award Winners and Runners-Up. These forward-thinking, innovative companies
give promise to the continuing growth and development of this industry
and show us exactly where we should be headed in the future."
