SYRACUSE,
NY and WESTBOROUGH, MA, November 20, 2003
Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, a leading provider of SIP-based
voice services announced today that its RapidFLEX™ Application Server
and SIPware™ Services suite has been deployed in USA Datanet’s
converged network to provide their customers with high value voice services.
The Pactolus RapidFLEX Application Server environment is hosting prepaid
and post paid calling card, and conference calling services connected
to the extensive USA Datanet VoIP network using the SIP signaling protocol.
This network-wide usage of multiple SIP-based services in conjunction
with high-density PSTN / IP media gateways represents an industry first
in deploying this combination of services in a common IP voice services
architecture. As part of this deployment, Pactolus has deployed its software-based
RapidFLEX Soft Media Server and the Convedia high-density CMS-6000
IP Media Server products.
“In partnership with Pactolus, we have achieved a significant industry
milestone in the
deployment of a multiple, highly scalable, SIP-based services using our
converged network
infrastructure and the Pactolus software environment,” said Jay
Mercer, Chief Technology Officer of USA Datanet. “The Pactolus environment
is designed to process extremely high busy hour call volumes while at
the same time having the functional breadth and flexibility to meet the
various services needs of our customers as our network expands.”
“Given USA Datanet’s combined experience
in deploying converged network elements and a history of developing high-value
services, we were able to bring a set of comprehensive service to the
market in a very short period of time,” said Dave Horton, President,
CTO, and founder of Pactolus. “Our open, IP-based services architecture
was able to readily integrate with the USA Datanet converged network elements
and in-place resources. And with the RapidFLEX environment now in place,
USA Datanet will be able to easily add other brand new services over the
same IP-based voice services infrastructure.”
