CAMPBELL, Calif. and VANCOUVER, Canada, December 1, 2003 - Sylantro Systems, provider of the most widely deployed IP Centrex and hosted communications applications, and Convedia Corporation, the leading provider of carrier-class media processing platforms, today announced completion of interoperability testing of their respective products, along with a partnership to deliver scalable and fully integrated IP Centrex solutions for telecommunication service providers worldwide. The integrated Sylantro/Convedia solution is currently in trials in incumbent service provider networks in both Asia and North America. Sylantro’s hosted communications and IP Centrex applications allow service providers to offer a wide range of high-value PBX replacement services, helping service providers produce new revenues beyond simple access and transport. A rich suite of applications and development tools allows new differentiated services to be rolled out quickly. These solutions allow service providers to offer a high-value, high-margin set of hosted services that can fully replace on-site phone systems, thus generating new revenues and extending service offerings to new markets. Convedia’s award-winning media servers include the CMS-6000, an ultra scalable carrier-class media server, and the CMS-1000, an entry-level media server ideal for service trials and pilots. By providing a shared pool of media processing resources for all applications in a carrier network, Convedia’s media servers help to drive operational and capital cost out of the network while at the same time helping to increase the velocity with which new services can be introduced. Sylantro has utilized Convedia’s SIP control interface to achieve full interoperability with Convedia’s media-processing features including announcement playback, VoiceXML script processing for IVR, advanced audio bridging, media transcoding, and audio recording and playback. “Sylantro’s products are designed to meet the demanding needs of the world’s largest and most sophisticated service providers,” said Jack Sorci, vice president of business development for Sylantro. “As IP Centrex services continue to roll out in full service deployments, it is essential to provide the flexibility to meet diverse requirements through complementary technologies. Our interoperability and partnership with Convedia ensures that Sylantro’s service-provider customers can leverage Convedia media servers to further enhance their IP Centrex offerings.” “Convedia’s media servers are designed
for simplified integration based on open standards, along with the scalability
and reliability incumbent service providers expect and demand,”
said Grant Henderson, EVP of Marketing and Strategy, Convedia. “The
Convedia and Sylantro partnership offers our customers an extended and
fully integrated solution set for offering hosted communications services
that is already delivering benefits in real-world deployments.” About Sylantro Systems Inc. Sylantro Systems provides the most widely deployed application
