VANCOUVER, BC and RICHARDSON, TX–
October 18, 2004
Convedia®
Corporation, the leading provider of IP media processing platforms, and
tekVizion™ PVS, Inc., the new standard for systems integrators,
have joined forces to showcase the power of IP enhanced communication
services for wireless, wireline, and cable MSO service providers. The
two companies are demonstrating, for the first time at Fall VON, a suite
of innovative features and services designed to allow service providers
to increase customer loyalty and gain new revenues across enterprise,
commercial, residential and mobile markets.
These demonstrations at Fall VON include;
Allows the subscriber to have a personalized ring or announcement played
as “ringback” to callers as the subscriber’s phone
is being alerted.
Enables a subscriber to dial an access code on their cell phone to record
notes about a conversation they had while not at their desk, before
they forget important details. The service will then send the recorded
message to the subscriber’s email address, along with the Caller
ID, date, time and call duration.
This service allows subscribers to screen calls. When a call comes into
the subscriber it is intercepted by the platform and the caller is asked
to record their name and reason for calling. The caller is put on hold
while the service plays the name/message to the subscriber. The subscriber
is then given the option to accept the call, decline, send to voicemail,
or record a message for playback to the caller.
Allows an IT manager to call into the service and record a message (i.e.,
“We will be taking the mail server down for maintenance this evening”.)
The service simultaneously sends the message to a list of phone numbers
across enterprise, wireline and wireless networks.
Allows subscribers to be reached using one number. The service will
ring up to five phone numbers, sequentially, until the subscriber answers.
Once the subscriber answers they are given the option to accept, decline
or send the call to voicemail.
Allows the subscriber to set times when they are not disturbed by the
phone being alerted; an announcement is played to the caller.
Allows subscribers to set white lists/black lists to allow or disallow
calls based on calling party ID.
“tekVizion’s core competency is to identify
and integrate technology components that allow our service provider customers
to rapidly deploy innovative, profitable IP-based services”, said
Terri Griffin, president of tekVizion. “We have technical experience
with a broad range of equipment categories and vendors required to deploy
and implement next-generation networks. Convedia’s rich IP media
processing capabilities, and ease of integration through SIP and XML-based
languages, have allowed us to integrate Convedia media servers into a
powerful suite of service solutions. In the IP media server category of
our deployments and service prototyping, the IP media server we depend
on time and again is Convedia.”
tekVizion has developed the applications being demonstrated
at VON using Convedia’s industry leading IP Media Server technology.
The media server and services such as these are also demonstrated in tekVizion’s
state-of-the-art Centerfield Solution CenterSM and Executive Briefing
Center.
“Service providers know the economic imperative
to switch to IP-based technology, but often need assistance to migrate
from their comfort zone of legacy circuit-based technology to IP-based
packet communication systems,” said Grant Henderson, Executive VP
of Marketing and Strategy for Convedia. “tekVizion is offering a
unique systems integration capability for service providers deploying
IP-based service infrastructures. Their expertise in evaluating, developing,
and deploying innovative solutions around newer IP-based technologies
is unparalleled in the industry and an important service for many of our
mutual customers.”
