ANNOUNCEMENT SERVER SOLUTIONS

Communicating information to your subscribers is one of the most fundamental requirements of any network-based service. Traditionally, the generation of informational tones, prompts and voice announcements has been performed by TDM-based announcement machines or announcement servers. In next-generation networks, the most efficient and cost-effective way of delivering these pre-recorded informational messages is natively in the IP network.

Convedia Media Servers deliver rich announcement server functionality in a multi-service, standards-compliant, IP-optimized platform. Convedia’s announcement server functionality includes:

  • Customizable announcements
  • Dynamically generated announcements (e.g. date or account balance)
  • Multiple language support
  • support for announcements provisioned in the media server and/or on an external NFS/HTTP server
  • The ability to start an announcement at a pre-defined offset from its normal beginning, append a recording to an announcement, play sequences of announcements, repeat announcements and loop indefinitely
  • SIP-compliant early media support. Allows announcement streaming to commence before SIP session acceptance by caller
  • Automatic transcoding between codec types
  • Powerful tools to convert existing announcement libraries to WAV format (stored in G.711 or G.729 format)
  • Support for video announcement streaming
  • Your choice of SIP or MGCP interfaces to control announcement server features

Convedia media servers can also support playing high-volume announcements via audio bridging. Up to 1200 participants can listen to an announcement streamed into an "audio mixer" supporting a 1-way outbound audio bridge mix. Multiple audio mixers can be cascaded together to achieve even higher volumes if desired.

When coupled with our partners softswitches and application servers, service providers can migrate AIN services to the IP network seamlessly and cost effectively. Why buy an announcement server when a Convedia Media Server can do this and so much more for a fraction of the cost?
